I’ve used background checks for roommates. You don’t really know someone until you live with them or until you check their history.

Some states allow you to request a copy of the deed or property title which will have the owner's legal name.

If it's for legal documents you might be able to use a skip tracer or process server. They have access to better databases.

Licensing boards are usually public too. I’ve checked medical licenses, contractor licenses even cosmetology certs on state run portals.

Most free location from phone number sites are bait for upsells. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

They market it like it’s some deep database access but the results feel like glorified google searches with a paywall.

If it’s a federal case, you can use pacer.gov but you’ll need to register and pay a few cents per page.
