Good Credit Repair Services in Las Vegas?

I’m looking for credit repair services in Las Vegas and wanted to see if anyone here has personal experience or recommendations. There are so many companies out there, and it’s hard to tell who’s actually legit and who just makes big promises with no results.

This is for a family member who’s trying to fix their credit before applying for a mortgage later this year.

Most of the damage is from a few late payments and a couple of old accounts in collections. Everything’s current now just trying to clean things up.

If you’ve worked with a credit repair specialist in Vegas and had a good (or bad) experience I’d really appreciate hearing about it.

I worked with Credit Absolute about a year ago in Vegas and had a pretty good experience. They were upfront about what could realistically be removed and what would just take time. They helped me get two collections removed and boosted my score about 70 points in 5 months. It wasn’t magic, but it was steady.
One tip: avoid anyone who guarantees a specific score jump....that’s a red flag. Credit repair is more like cleaning up and organizing than wiping the slate clean. Just make sure your family member gets everything in writing.

Just chiming in to say avoid Lexington Law. I used them years ago and paid monthly for almost nothing to happen. Literally paid them for like 8 months, and maybe one dispute letter was sent. I was too naïve to question it back then.
If they’re in Vegas they might have better luck with someone local. Smaller credit repair firms usually put in more effort ......their reputation matters more.

I used a guy named Rick over at Vegas Credit Doctor. Super small operation, but dude really knows his stuff. He walked me through my entire report and explained what could actually be removed and what was just aging out.
He charged me per deletion, not per month, which honestly kept me accountable. My credit jumped 90+ points in about 6 months. Might be worth checking if he’s still around.

Honestly? Just tell your family member to save the money and DIY it. Disputing old collections and late payments isn’t that hard anymore with all the online portals. Sites like Credit Karma even guide you through it.
Credit repair companies mostly just send letters you could do yourself unless you’re dealing with ID theft or legal issues. But if you want peace of mind and are short on time, I get it.

Not in Vegas, but I did everything through Self and Experian Boost. Paid down some cards, added a few positive tradelines, and my score jumped 110 points in 8 months. No shady repair services.
If your relative’s stuff is old and already paid off, sometimes all it takes is time and a few disputes to clear it up. Also shoutout to MyFICO forums that community is golden.

The real credit repair service is just patience and timely payments. Jokes aside if the accounts are already current, that’s a huge plus. Dispute the collections especially if they’re past SOL, ask for goodwill adjustments for late payments, and use something like Kikoff or Grow Credit to add some positive history.
And NEVER pay a company that says they can erase your credit history .....that’s code for scam.

Anyone heard of The Credit Agents? I saw them advertised near Spring Valley, but I haven’t tried them. Wondering if they’re worth the consultation. My mom’s in a similar boat ...current on everything but a couple collection ghosts haunting her
Would love to know if they helped anyone, or if they’re just blowing smoke like most of these experts.

I feel this. My husband and I were trying to get pre-approved and didn’t realize a $60 old medical bill had gone into collections. Totally tanked his score. We used Credit Saint ...not local but they were thorough. Got that account removed in 3 months.
Still, wish we had known earlier. Check LexisNexis and ChexSystems too....... lenders peek at everything nowadays.

Just a heads up: be wary of credit sweep offers. Some Vegas-based Instagram folks are offering overnight score boosts claiming they can erase your entire file. That’s illegal AF and will blow up in your face.
Stick with legit credit education or go with someone who’s NACSO-certified. Reputation matters more than flashy results.

Late payments? Try goodwill letters first. Had two 30-day lates with Capital One, sent a physical letter explaining the situation (COVID stuff), and they removed them in 45 days. Score bumped 45 points.
Don’t underestimate the power of being polite and persistent especially if you’ve been a good customer otherwise.

Oh man, I live in Vegas and went through three different "repair services" before just doing it myself. Most were all talk, took my money, and said it’s in process for MONTHS.
Best move I made was signing up with Credit Karma and pulling my real reports from AnnualCreditReport.com. You learn fast once you dive into it.

Replying to u/DIYrepairhero.... totally agree. I sent disputes myself using certified mail. One collection came off because they couldn’t validate it and one charge-off was updated to paid.
I think people forget that the credit system is built on documentation. If they can’t prove it they have to remove it.

Used Pyramid Credit Repair after a Reddit recommendation was skeptical, but they actually did what they promised. No crazy overnight miracles, but 3 deletions in 4 months ain’t bad.
They do a full audit and explain everything. My guy was based in Henderson but worked with folks all over the Valley.

Empathetic vibes your way. Been there. We started working on my husband’s credit when we started house hunting. It felt overwhelming at first. A friend referred us to Credit Ready LV...... they were upfront, no BS, and gave us a roadmap.
I appreciated that they told us some stuff would just have to age off naturally. That kind of honesty is rare in this industry.

No shade, but a lot of people looking for credit repair really just need budgeting help. If the accounts are all current, maybe your family member should try You Need A Budget (YNAB) or Undebt.it to avoid slipping again.
Repair is one thing staying fixed is another. Vegas can be spendy, so build those habits early.

If you’re on a tight timeline (like trying to buy a home soon), time your disputes carefully. Some deletions can temporarily lower your score, especially if they wipe out old accounts that were helping your history length.
Talk to a mortgage broker before pulling any triggers. They might say leave it alone if the score is already passable.

I second the caution on credit sweeps. I had a friend in Vegas get caught up in one of those illegal schemes. They claimed to remove EVERYTHING using identity theft claims which is fraud unless it’s true.
Six months later, his credit was frozen, and he was under investigation. Not worth it. If it sounds too good to be true… you know the rest.

One thing that helped me was adding myself as an authorized user on my mom’s old Amex. Instantly added 10 years of credit history to my file.
Your family member might try that if someone close has a clean, seasoned account. Super underrated trick.

You could also try Nav or Credit Strong. They’re not exactly repair companies, but they report positive tradelines. I stacked a few of those with my disputes, and it helped balance out my report.
Credit is about ratios and recency. Don’t ignore the build side of things.
