The RGV Credit Repair Specialists

Has anyone had any experience with The RGV Credit Repair Specialists? I’ve seen their name come up a few times and I’m curious if they’re actually legit.

A friend of mine in the Valley is thinking about working with them to get some old negative marks cleared up before applying for a mortgage. We just want to make sure they’re the kind of company that delivers on what they promise and not one of those that talks big but doesn’t really follow through.

If you’ve used them before whether your experience was good or not I’d really appreciate hearing about it. Were they upfront and professional? Did you actually see any improvements in your credit?

Yeah, I used RGV Credit Repair Specialists back in 2022. They helped me remove a couple of late payments and an old collection. It wasn’t overnight, but after about 3 months, i saw my score go from 580 to 670. They were really communicative, which I appreciated. I do recommend reading through their contract closely though it’s very legalese. Nothing shady, just thorough. Your friend should also be aware that credit repair has limits; not all negatives can be removed. But overall i’d say they’re legit.

I’d advise some caution. My brother signed up with them thinking they’d fix everything before his car loan, but they only got one thing removed in four months. They did explain the process well, but I think he expected a miracle. IMO, they’re not scammers, just not miracle workers either. So if your friend has realistic expectations and is patient, it might be worth it. But yeah… not magic.

As a loan officer in McAllen, I’ve seen a few clients come through after working with RGV. Mixed bag tbh. One client had solid results and was mortgage-ready in 6 months. Another… not so much. I think it really depends on how bad your credit is to begin with and whether the negatives are factual or not. They can’t dispute legit debt, but they do know how to challenge technical errors effectively.

Used them a few years ago when I had medical debt dragging me down. It took about 90 days before I saw any changes, but they removed two collections and even helped me set up a plan to build positive credit. What I liked is they didn’t ghost me after payment they actually followed up regularly.

Dude credit repair companies are the MLM of finance. You pay them to do what you can technically do yourself for free. Disputing stuff isn’t rocket science, and the credit bureaus even have templates online. That said, not everyone has the time or mental bandwidth to chase Equifax down a rabbit hole, so i get it. RGV isn't a scam but IMO it’s like paying someone to cook your microwave dinner.

I signed up after my divorce left my credit in shambles. They were kind and professional, but progress was sloooow. I’m talking 6+ months. Still, they got 3 collections removed and helped me raise my score by about 80 points. They also taught me some habits that have kept my score climbing since. Worth it if you’re patient and consistent.

My roommate used them and I SWEAR the only thing that improved was their ability to ignore follow-up emails.....im not saying they’re scammers but they definitely were not responsive once the payments started rolling in. One dispute came back as verified and they didn’t do much after that. Hopefully they’ve changed since, but it left a bad taste.

Actually had a good experience. My credit was in the 500s when I started and hit the mid-600s within 4 months. They were transparent about which accounts they could help with and which ones they couldn’t. I respect that. I still had to pay off some things on my own, but they definitely boosted my mortgage readiness.

If your friend’s thinking mortgage, tell them to start ASAP. RGV helped me clear up an old repo and 2 charge-offs but it took like 5 months before lenders started treating me different. Credit repair takes TIME. People think it’s like ordering Amazon Prime ......it’s not. But yeah, they did come through.

I emailed them for a consult and they were pretty responsive. Told me they couldn’t guarantee deletions but would analyze the reports first. I liked the no-BS approach. I ended up not hiring them (decided to DIY) but if my disputes fail, I’d circle back to them. They didn’t hard-sell me which i respect.

Their social media posts are fire but their results? Mid-tier. Used them last year, saw some deletions, but they hyped it like I’d hit 750 in 60 days. I hit 650 in 90. Not bad not great. I think they’re more for people who need guidance than a fix-it-all solution.

Hey i worked with them while recovering from identity theft and they were super helpful. They guided me through freezing reports, filing disputes, and even setting up fraud alerts. They really knew their stuff. I’d recommend them to anyone who’s overwhelmed by the system.

Not gonna lie i was super skeptical. I watched my cousin waste money on a different service years ago. But my friend used RGV last year and they actually got a charge-off deleted. Color me surprised. Still wouldn’t do it myself but they’re not just fluff.

RGV Credit Repair? Bro they fixed my cousin’s credit so fast i thought it was a scam. Turns out his bad credit was just like… one mistake from years ago. Not every case is that simple tho. Make sure your friend’s issues are worth the money.

I tried them and they were solid. Gave me updates every couple weeks and didn’t disappear once they had my payment. Also helped me open a secured card with some fintech I hadn’t heard of before. Saw about a 60-point jump in total. No regrets.

Honestly you don’t need to pay someone to send letters. Dispute through Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax directly. It’s not glamorous but it works. Save your money unless you're just super busy or really overwhelmed. That said i’ve seen some decent reviews of RGV.

Their communication was top-notch. Every time something changed on my report, they emailed and texted me. That kind of attentiveness is rare in this industry. I didn’t get every item deleted but they made sure i understood what was possible.

I tried them last year before buying my home. Score went up about 75 points over 6 months. They got a repo removed, and that was huge. Not cheap but i guess peace of mind costs money. I'd recommend them especially if you're trying to qualify for FHA.

I booked a consult but never followed through because their monthly price was high. I like that they offer credit education but wasn’t sure if i was being upsold. Would love to hear from more people who actually completed the process.
