Best People Search Sites that Actually Work?

I’ve been trying to track down someone I lost touch with years ago, an old friend from school who moved states and basically disappeared. I’ve tried googling, facebook and all the usual stuff but nothing solid came up. Now I’m looking at people search sites but there are so many and I’m not sure which ones are legit or just clickbait.

Has anyone here had real success with any of them? Are there any sites that give decent info without charging you $30 just to confirm a name?

Truthfinder actually helped me reconnect with my cousin after 15 years. It had her old and new addresses and even a list of relatives.
