Not to be a buzzkill but the exact algorithms are proprietary. You could be doing everything right and still never hit 850. Doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.
Had a consult call with them. Very professional. Not pushy at all, and they actually recommended i hold off because some negatives were about to age off anyway.
I’ve used PayPal Pay Monthly twice and nothing shows on my credit reports. Not sure if i got a version that doesn’t report or what. Seems inconsistent.
Would love to know if this depends on the loan provider or if it’s a glitch.
I used the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and it changed my life. No shady fees, just real help and a repayment plan. Took 3 years but I’m finally at 710. No regrets.
They got me at 18 with a $300 limit. Thought i was rich.......ended up maxing it out on pizza and gas. Paid it off at 25. So yeah they know what they’re doing.
You're not alone. I felt super overwhelmed when I started. My advice is to make a list of what you need help with (collections, late payments, etc.) and ask companies exactly how they’ll tackle each item.
Not a direct customer but i work in mortgage lending. Seen a few clients come in saying they used It’s Time. Results varied one dude saw a solid 70-point jump, another only like 15. Depends a lot on your report and how much junk’s on there.
Had a friend go through them. His results were okay, but nothing he couldn't have done with free resources. They basically disputed some accounts, sent a few letters. Customer service ghosted him after month 3. Proceed with caution.
Hey i went through something similar last year. My Chapter 13 was dismissed early and i wrote to all three bureaus with a copy of the dismissal order and a short, polite letter explaining the situation. It got removed from Experian after two rounds of disputes! Keep it factual and include...
Used them for 6 months. Removed 5 negative items across all 3 bureaus. My score went up about 80 points total. It’s not nothing but it’s not magic either. You’ve still gotta be proactive.
Credit repair companies be like: Pay us monthly so we can send strongly worded letters… to people who already hate you. I’ll fix my credit the old-fashioned way crying and logging into Credit Karma every hour.
This sounds like it could be identity theft. Have you pulled your LexisNexis and ChexSystems reports too? They can show account data that the credit bureaus don’t. Might help your case.
I walked away from a Wyndham contract 5 years ago. They hounded me with letters and threats, then sold the debt. Ended up settling for 30 cents on the dollar but my credit is still recovering. These companies don’t play nice they will sue.
I used Credit Repair Resources back in 2022. They helped get two collections removed but it took a solid 5 months. Communication was okay not stellar but they replied within a couple days. Nothing shady though so that’s a plus in this industry.
Honestly one of the best services i found was Reddit and YouTube. There are solid creators explaining step by step how to clean your credit legally. Use that knowledge to judge whether a company knows their stuff.
Yo low-key your DIY work already sounds better than what some shady places offer. I’d stick with self-repair unless you get a rock-solid recommendation. Most of these companies just dispute online...same stuff you can do for free.
Ask your landlord if they use soft or hard credit pulls. Some only do soft pulls which won’t care as much about a low score. Also, some services like eCredable can report utilities to boost your file in 24–72 hrs.
