Check your state’s department of corrections or sex offender registry directly. Most are public and searchable.

Area code lookup can give you an idea where the number originated but that’s about it for free.

I’ve tried 5 different people search tools and public data check was the weakest in terms of transparency. You don’t know where the info came from.

If the incident was recent, check local news archives. Small town papers especially love covering arrests.

If you’re looking at public records and court data sometimes going straight to county or state websites works better than these lookup sites.
