Get a copy of your credit reports from AnnualCreditReport.com. Look for errors, outdated info, or duplicate collections. Dispute those first before hiring anyone.

Freeze your credit reports, pull them all manually from annualcreditreport.com, and start there. I did that and fixed 4 late payments myself. Took time but $0 spent.
U are doing the right thing by getting intentional. Credit scores are all about usage and history. Keeping low balances and paying on time will help a ton even with PayPal Credit.
I used to work for a legit credit repair firm for about 2 years. The key is knowing the difference between dispute resolution and credit sweeps. The latter can get sketchy fast especially if they r filing police reports claiming identity theft just to remove tradelines. That’s a hard no from me...
I used Bluegrass Credit Solutions a while back small local outfit. They didn’t promise me miracles just steady cleanup. Took 6 months but my score jumped 80 pts
yeah I got one too. Thought it was junk mail at first then realized it had my real name and part of my account number. Definitely sketchy feeling even though it looked official.
I feel you. I applied for 4 cards before realizing that business cards can be harder without an EIN. I switched to sole prop, used my SSN, and got approved for Capital One Spark. Don’t give up
