Credit Repair Australia Reviews

There’s a ton of mixed info out there some companies claim they can wipe defaults and improve scores quickly, but others seem to just take your money and drag things out.

Been seeing names like Credit Wipe Australia and Credit Clean Australia pop up a lot. Some reviews are great, but it’s hard to tell what’s legit and what’s just marketing fluff. Trustpilot has a few promising stories but it's also full of people warning about false promises and subscription traps.

Wondering if it’s better to go the DIY route or if there really are services out there that deliver on what they promise. Anyone here have personal results to share good or bad?

I get how confusing this stuff is. I went through a rough patch during COVID and my credit took a massive hit. I tried fixing it myself with mixed results. Later on i worked with a financial counsellor (free via the National Debt Helpline) and they were brilliant. No upsells just help. Don’t pay someone to repair your credit without checking out your free options first.

Used Credit Clean Australia last year and honestly... it was okay. Not amazing. They got one default removed but two others stayed put. They said they couldn’t remove them due to the nature of the debts which i later found out just meant they were legit debts. $1,200 down the drain. Maybe if your listings are actually errors, they’re worth trying, but I’d say do your homework first.

Totally agree! i had the same experience with Credit Wipe. They did get some results but it felt like i was paying a premium just for someone to email Equifax on my behalf. You’re paying for convenience more than anything else.

Credit repair services pay someone $1,500 to send 3 emails you could’ve written yourself while wearing pyjamas and watching Married at First Sight. Not saying they’re all dodgy but some are just fancy stationery and buzzwords.

Hey folks i’ve never used these services, but I’ve got two telco defaults from 2019. Thinking of trying to clean up my score before applying for a home loan next year. Would the DIY route take longer than going with one of these companies?

DIY can take longer, yes but it's also free and puts you in control. Defaults stay on file for 5 years unless you can prove an error or make an arrangement with the creditor. Start by checking your credit report from all three agencies (Equifax, Experian, and illion). Then send a correction request directly. Templates are online!

Credit Clean helped me boost my score by about 120 points. I had 4 listings, they got 2 removed, and the rest restructured into payment plans. Took about 4 months and $850, which isn’t peanuts but i now have a car loan with a decent rate. For me it worked.

Used three credit repair companies in the last decade. My take is if you’re not proactive, they’ll just string you along. They know you’re desperate. They’ll review your file for weeks, offer no guarantees and charge subscription-style fees. Your best weapon is knowledge and direct negotiation with creditors.

Guys if you’ve been through financial trauma, it’s okay to want help. But please know these companies can’t legally remove accurate listings. They might negotiate with your creditors, but so can you. Call the original creditor, ask about hardship arrangements, or dispute if the listing’s wrong.

Still on the fence here. Credit Wipe offered a results based plan where i only pay if they succeed but the terms were a bit vague. Anyone had luck with that model?

Honestly sometimes paying is worth it. Not everyone has time to dig through reports and draft letters. My partner had 3 listings fixed via Credit Fix Solutions and it took a weight off our shoulders. We paid $1,400 but we also got approved for a mortgage.

These companies prey on panic. We can help you get a loan! Meanwhile they milk your wallet and leave you hanging. Saw a dude on Trustpilot who was 6 months in with Credit Clean, no updates and ghosted by customer service.....yikes.

If you want to DIY check out ASIC’s Moneysmart page....great info on fixing credit yourself. Also credit repair companies must be licensed by ASIC. You can check their credentials on the ASIC register. If they’re not there run.

Professionally speaking, unless your credit report has errors, there’s little a repair service can do. Credit repair isn't about deletion......it’s about dispute resolution. That said some firms are good at guiding clients through the maze. Vet carefully read contracts.

Credit Clean tried to charge me $200 just for the consultation phase which was basically a phone call where they read my Equifax report back to me. That’s info i already had. I asked about success rates ..... got vague answers. Pulled out immediately.

Man i feel duped. Signed up with Credit Wipe on the promise of quick results. Four months in, nothing’s happened, and now they’re asking for more documents. Just feels like a stall tactic. Am i being scammed?

Gotta shout out FixMyCredit.com.au ......they actually helped me when I thought all hope was lost. Took some time, sure but they were upfront, answered every email, and my report looks way better now. Worth every cent IMO.

it’s illegal in Australia to mislead consumers with false credit repair promises. If you think a company has scammed you, report them to ASIC and ACCC. Don’t let them get away with it. We need more transparency in this industry.

These companies always promise the moon. We’ll erase your defaults mate, that stuff stays for 5 years by law unless it’s an error. Credit Clean Australia tried to upsell me on a platinum package that didn’t do anything more than I could’ve Googled. Scammy vibes. I walked away after the free consult turned into pressure selling. Be wary.
