has anyone dealt with medicredit before?

I recently got a letter from medicredit about a medical bill i supposedly owe. i don’t recall ever receiving a bill from the hospital or provider they claim it’s from. as i’ve tried calling them but the response has been vague and i’m hesitant to pay without verification. has anyone had experience dealing with medicredit?

You're absolutely right to be cautious before paying anything. If you don’t recognize the bill, request a debt validation letter from Medicredit—they’re required by law to provide details about the debt, including proof that you actually owe it.

In the meantime, check your records (old statements, insurance claims, or past bills) to see if anything matches up.

When communicating with Medicredit avoid confirming or accepting responsibility for the debt until you receive proper verification as your statements could be used to legitimize the account.

Sounds frustrating!
Definitely don’t pay without verification and ask Medicredit for debt validation in writing as they're required to provide proof. also check your credit report to see if it’s listed.
If you never got a bill from the provider consider calling them directly to confirm.

Good call on being cautious!send them a debt validation letter requesting proof of the bill and original provider details. If they can’t verify it they cant legally collect
stay firm and dont pay until you have clear documentation
