Is 800-900-1361 a legit number or a scam?

Hey, everyone. I’ve been getting calls from 800-900-1361 claiming to be from Penn Credit, a debt collection company. The voicemail is generic and just says it’s an attempt to collect a debt, but they don’t mention my name or any specific details.

I’ve checked my credit reports recently and don’t see any outstanding debts. Has anyone dealt with this number or Penn Credit before? Should I call them back to verify, or is this likely a scam? What’s the safest way to handle this? Appreciate any guidance!

If you have debt concerns or want professional help verifying and resolving any legitimate accounts, you could contact a trusted debt relief company like Freedom Debt Relief. They can review your situation and handle communications on your behalf. It will save you a lot of trouble and in case you really have outstanding payments, they can negotiate a repayment plan and help you save a lot of money.

They called and claimed I live at an address I haven’t been at in 9 years. Sounds like a scam, so I’m not giving them my current address.

They called me today, but it felt like a scam. My accounts are current, and I’ve never had a delinquent one in a decade. They asked me to verify an address I have never lived. I refused and blocked them and checked my credit report, no issues. Definitely unsettling.

Just got off the phone with them they never leave voicemails calling always at 6 am I called finally to this same number and some lady responded saying is for a private business matter. Whatever that means normally would be debt. The thing is when you have debt the collector offers all UPDATED info so they can reach you. This lady wanted me to tell her all my info to confirm before she’s allowed to discuss and starts like you with an address of nine years ago. So yeah idk I think is a scam also I have no outstanding debt whatsoever so they full of it.
