Is pet insurance worth it for a new pet owner?

I’m adopting a kitten soon, and I’m confused whether to get pet insurance. The monthly premiums I’ve seen range from $20 to $50, depending on the coverage, but I’m unsure if it’s necessary.

I’ve read that insurance is helpful for unexpected emergencies or illnesses, but it doesn’t always cover routine care like vaccinations or checkups. For those of you with pets, has pet insurance been worth it for you? Would you recommend any particular plans or companies?

I’m also curious if it’s better to just set aside a savings fund for vet expenses instead. Any advice for a firsttime pet owner would be appreciated

Totally worth it for peace of mind. You’ll pay monthly and sometimes it’ll feel pointless, barely hitting your deductible most years. But one day, you might face a $10K vet bill, and they’ll cover most of it.

Its worth it. I’ve had Pets Best for almost four years and haven’t needed to use it yet. The monthly cost is reasonable, and they offer different coverage tiers. My plan, which covers accidents and emergencies, is about $30 a mo.
