Glad someone’s finally talking about this. I’ve been embarrassed pulling out my non-tap card at places like Starbucks while the barista’s tapping hers with one hand and making espresso with the other
Bro i swear these credit repair companies are like gym memberships. You sign up with all this hope and enthusiasm, and then... nothing. Rapido wasn’t the worst but it also wasn’t worth $129/mo for me.
Okay but can we talk about how half the stuff on people’s credit reports is just plain inaccurate? I had accounts from someone with a similar name. Omega helped me clear those up. I didn’t even realize until they pointed it out.
This might sound dumb but i just stopped using credit for a year. Paid everything in cash, saved like crazy and when i went back i got a low limit card and kept it under 10%. My score jumped 100 pts in 6 months. Sometimes less is more.
Your setup is good but how do you track everything? I get nervous juggling more than 3 cards. Would love tips on managing due dates and benefits across that many accounts!
Can we talk about how shady all credit repair companies feel, even the good ones? I used Brightside too and while they weren’t awful they still gave off MLM vibes. Like... stop upselling me on webinars. Just fix my credit please.
same! i started using my personal card with a killer spreadsheet setup. Excel is my co pilot now. Hopefully will upgrade to something like Ink Cash once i hit year 2.
I know some folks have had success with it but i’d rather write one really good article a week than post five mediocre ones based on generic PLR fluff.
Mine was flagged after a divorce when my ex passed away. Somehow her death got tagged to my account. Took almost four months and multiple escalations. File a complaint with the CFPB....it helped in my case.
I made a spreadsheet of every debt, due date, balance, and interest rate. It sounds boring but man it gave me clarity. Tackled high interest stuff first. Snowball method is fun for motivation, avalanche is best for money.
YES used Precision Credit Repair as they’re a small firm in Homewood. Owner is a former banker, knows his stuff. Fee was $79/mo. Got 2 charge-offs removed and taught me how to maintain the score. Took 7 months but totally worth it.
Sky Blue worked better for me. Cheaper, quicker responses and better progress. I had five charge-offs, and they got three removed within 90 days. Canceling was as easy as sending an email.
It's appealing because we're all tired of waiting years to fix one late payment. But man... shortcuts tend to backfire. Especially when Equifax slaps you back to reality.
Whatever you do, don’t sound like a knockoff of Credit Karma or Lexington Law. People have trust issues in this space. Be original not derivative. Your credibility depends on it.
I signed up through a referral and the first month felt promising... got assigned a rep, walked through everything and got a full breakdown. But then my rep changed twice in 4 months and the communication fell apart. I had to keep chasing updates.
I negotiated a 40% settlement on a $900 bill. They didn’t delete it from my report but did mark it as paid. I followed up with a goodwill letter and boom.....3 months later it was removed. Worth trying!
I work in lending. Deleting a negative doesn’t always mean score bump because scoring models also weigh the age of the negative, type of debt, and your overall profile. Good on you for paying though.
Bruh please don’t take peoples info over DMs or texts. Use secure portals. Like, encrypted and password protected. I’ve seen too many identity theft horror stories.
Tbh i think people focus too much on removing negative items instead of building positive credit. I added a secured card, paid my bills on time and my score jumped over 100 points in a year...no repair company needed.
Yes i stopped paying my fees in 2021. In less than a year i was getting letters from FBCS debt collector. They hit my credit with a collection. It dropped my FICO by 62 points. Took me a full year to resolve. I wouldn’t risk it again.
