Dude I got the exact same call like 3 days ago. Same number. I called my bank directly....they said they hadn’t flagged anything. Definitely a scam.
Yes it's a number used by different banks. I was left a message by an AI recording saying there might be a hold on my account due to fraudulent transactions. They said to call the number in question. They called at 10.04 am. I listened to the recording after 4pm est. On Saturday july 26 2025. So I called the number. Again An AI voice asked if I was who I am. I pushed 1. Then ot asked if I wanted to block these calls from this number. I pressed 1 for yes. They it said we will connect you with an operator to verify your activity. THEN I WAITED AND A PERSON S PEAKING BROKEN ENGLISH ASKED HOW CA. I HELP YOU. I KNEW THEN AS I ALWAYS THOUGUT, THAT IT WAS A SCAM. I HUNG UP. MY BANKS CUSTUMER SERVICE CLISES AT 3:00 PM ON SATURDAYS. I THEN LOGGED ONTO MY ACCOUNT. NOTHING , NO MESSAGES OR HOLDS. THEN I CHECKED THE NUMBER ONLINE. AND THE NUBMER IS LEGIT FOR FRAUD, BUT NOT MY BANK. So do due dillegence. I didn't talk to anyone. But they knew my bank and last 4 numbers of my card.I got a call today claiming to be from my bank’s fraud detection team, asking me to call back at 833-735-1894. The voicemail mentioned suspicious activity on my debit card, but this number isn’t listed on my bank’s official website, which makes me suspicious.
I haven’t noticed any unauthorized transactions on my account yet, but I’m hesitant to call back without verifying. Has anyone else received calls from this number? Could this actually be a legitimate fraud alert line?
I’m thinking of calling the number on the back of my debit card instead to confirm with my bank. Would that be the safest way to handle this? Let me know your thoughts or experiences.
