How Do You Get Credit Repair Clients?

For those of you in the credit repair space what’s working for you when it comes to finding clients? I’ve recently started offering credit repair services and I’m confident in what I can do, but getting consistent leads has been a challenge.

So far, I’ve helped a few friends and family members, and the results have been solid. But I want to grow beyond my personal network and actually start building a steady client base. I’m open to organic methods, paid ads, social media whatever’s effective and sustainable.

If you’ve been in the game for a while, how did you start? Are there particular platforms, groups, or local strategies that worked well for you? Also curious if anyone has experience working with lead gen services are they worth it or mostly hype?

My first year was mostly loss-leader stuff. Free audits, free workshops, free ebooks. Then I upsold. It’s a grind at first but you build loyalty and credibility.

I printed 100 business cards, walked into apartment complexes, and spoke to the leasing office manager. Offered tenant workshops. Got invited to 3 events in one month.

Lead gen sites sell the same leads to multiple people. That’s why they ghost you. Instead, run Google ads for keywords like fix my credit fast works better and you own the data.

Don’t sleep on LinkedIn. Not for ads but for building relationships with realtors, brokers, and lenders. If you help them close deals, they’ll remember your name.

I built a funnel around get a mortgage ready score in 90 days. Targeted first-time home buyers. Realtors love it, clients are motivated and it gave my offer a focus.

Honestly Facebook Groups have been my goldmine. I join local buy/sell/trade groups and offer free tips on credit. People DM me all the time asking for help. Organic but takes consistency.

I started with a simple Instagram page showing client results with permission obviously. People LOVE before and after credit scores. Also post myths like u need debt to build credit to stir convo.

If you’re not networking with mortgage brokers and real estate agents, you’re missing out. They have clients who NEED clean credit. Make their job easier and they’ll send folks your way.

Tried buying leads once… got burned. Half the numbers were disconnected. Stick with content marketing or even TikTok if you’re willing to show your face.

TikTok hands down. I just explain one credit fact per video and slap trending music on it. Some of my vids hit 100k views. Free exposure and DMs from people needing help.

Partnerships. I offer discounted services to local car dealers and rent-to-own places for their declined apps. Keeps their pipeline moving and feeds me leads.

I did a 30-day fix your credit challenge in my local community FB group. Gave away value every day. Got 7 paying clients by the end. Be generous upfront.

LinkedIn is underrated. Everyone there’s talking biz and personal finance now. Post client wins, educational tips, and connect with realtors. Less spammy than FB.

I used Thumbtack early on. You pay for leads but they’re actively looking. If you’re quick to respond and have good reviews it can be worth it.

I just want to say i signed up with a lead gen company and all I got were angry people saying i never asked for this. Felt more like damage control than selling.

Reddit worked for me ironically. I joined personal finance subs and gave solid, honest advice. Never hard sell. People will PM you if you help without expecting anything.

I got business cards printed and handed them out at college events, especially near graduation season. Grads are terrified of credit, and it’s the perfect time to educate.

Church groups and community centers. Offer a free session or workshop. People are way more trusting when you’re coming from a helpful place.

I joined a few Reddit AMAs as a credit repair specialist and answered questions. Didn’t promote myself, just helped. Got 3 long-term clients off that alone.
