Is Affirm safe to use for purchases?

I’m considering using Affirm to finance a larger purchase, around $1,200 for a laptop but I’m a bit hesitant. From what I’ve read, they offer installment plans with clear terms and no hidden fees, but I’d love to hear your experiences.

Is it really as straightforward as they say? Does it impact your credit score when you apply or if you miss a payment? I’ve also heard that the interest rates can vary a lot depending on your credit. If you’ve used Affirm before, was it a smooth process, and would you recommend it for bigger purchases? Any tips or things to watch out for?

I’ve been using Affirm for a while and haven’t had any problems. Plus, it can help build credit since they report to Experian, if thats something you’re interested in.

Affirm can be confusing. I have $500 available to use at stores with their virtual card, but for Amazon, they make you reapply and might reject you if your credit isn’t strong. What’s crazy is, even with a credit score in the low 600s, I got approved for a car loan at 6% (with $2,000 down on a 2021 Toyota Corolla), $3,000 in credit cards, and a $4,000 personal loan that hit my account yesterday. Yet, Affirm denied me for a $200 Amazon purchase. Makes no sense!
