Is Progressive Insurance worth it?

Hi, everyone. I’m considering switching to Progressive Insurance since their quote for my auto coverage came in lower than my current provider. For six months, they’re offering $550 compared to my current $620 for similar coverage. I know Progressive is a big name, but I’m curious, are their rates stable or do they hike prices after the first term?

Also, how’s their customer service? Do they handle claims efficiently? If you’ve had experience with them, I’d love to hear your thoughts before making the switch.

Progressive’s low initial rates are appealing but be cautious rates often increase after the first term. They rank moderate in customer satisfaction for claims, with an average handling time of 7 to 14 days. Many customers report premium hikes after 6 months. Research reviews before switching.

For some reason, car insurance companies don’t seem to care about keeping customers. Maybe they’re just focused on hitting new customer quotas. I know plenty of people who bounce between Progressive and Geico every year, chasing the cheaper rate for the same coverage.

They’ve been great for me. I had to file a claim back in 2022, and it was handled quickly and fairly (even though it was totally my fault). In my experience, they’re super reliable for a budget friendly carrier.

Most insurance companies raise rates. I used to have Progressive, but I switched because my rate kept going up even with no accidents or changes. Its smart to shop around every few years.
