National Credit Systems- Pay For Delete?

Hi everyone,
I've been struggling to resolve a late rent issue with National Credit Systems (NCS) for a while now, and it's impacting my credit score. I'm hoping to hear from others who have dealt with NCS and get some advice.

Here's the situation:
I recently started a new job, and things got hectic. Unfortunately, I completely forgot about paying rent for a month. When I realized the mistake, I immediately set up automatic payments to cover the past due rent and future months.

A few days ago, I received a collection letter from NCS on behalf of my landlord, demanding payment for the late rent with a late fee. I'm committed to resolving this, but ideally through a "pay for delete" agreement.

I contacted NCS, and the representative confirmed they offer "pay for delete" but only after full payment. However, they refused to provide written confirmation of this agreement

My questions are:
Has anyone successfully received a "pay for delete" confirmation in writing from NCS?
Is there a guarantee that they'll actually remove the collection record from my credit report after payment?
Any advice or similar experiences dealing with NCS on rent-related debt would be greatly appreciated!

Verbal agreements aren’t reliable. Keep pushing for that written proof, even if it takes multiple calls.

There are cases where people have gotten NCS to remove collections from their credit report, but it depends on who you speak with.

If one rep says no to a written agreement try calling again and talking to someone else.

there’s no guarantee they’ll follow through. U could end up paying and still have the collection stay on your credit report don’t take that risk unless you’re sure it’s documented.

follow up with the credit bureaus after dispute the collection and provide proof of payment. Sometimes, collections get removed through disputes if the debt is fully paid.
